BRASS
Around 1400 B.C. during the Bronze age Romans discovered the alloy by combining Copper and Zinc. The unique anti corrosive properties of the metal gave it widespread use in a multitude of applications, from armement to ornamentation. This body of work reflects my futile desire to create permanence through the medium. Mayan culture as well as Art Deco, Art Nouveau, nature, technology and the human body influence this series.
