Inspired by old movies, nature, and the derelict neighborhoods of Los Angeles, my paintings are an expression of the unstoppable march of time. The paintings tell a story of the mysterious, forgotten corners of a changing society, depicting weathered objects, decrepit buildings and crumbling structures. By working with acid on copper, I am attempting to collaborate with the dynamics of entropy and its elusive and unpredictable effects on the material. The technique is unforgiving, and time sensitive, forcing me to stay present, and imaginative.
